On the 17th of November 2019, another significant event took place in AIUB when the Honorable Minister of Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges adhered to the persistent invitation of the American International University-Bangladesh to be featured as a Distinguished Speaker for the Dr. Anwarul Abedin Lecture Series. An event in honor of the Founder and Chairman of AIUB the Late Dr. Anwarul Abedin. The Honorable Minister discussed the provisions of the Road Safety and Transport Act 2018 and its impact on the Bangladeshi people. He also highlighted in his speech the many important projects of the present Leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Under her direction and leadership, these projects are now on-going and eventually will immensely contribute to the improvement of the economy and social life of the country.
Ms. Nadia Anwar, Honorable Chairman of the Board of Trustees delivered a warm welcome to the distinguished speaker and to the audience as a whole. This was followed by the formal introduction of the Honorable Minister by the Vice President Academics and Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva who highlighted the Honorable Minister’s exemplary achievements and important strategic positions in the government service and in the Bangladesh Awami League. After a very informative and enlightening speech by the Honorable Minister, he was presented a Plaque of Appreciation by the Founder and Member, Board of Trustees Dr. Hasanul A. Hasan. Founder and Chairman of the Board, Ms. Nadia Anwar; Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Tafazzal Hossain; Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam and the VP Academics, Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva were also present at that time.
